When you find it hard to have a bowel movement, or if the time between passes gets longer and longer, constipation has set in.

All of us have experienced it, and most of the time it is not a physical danger. The two main causes are lack of fiber and you guessed it, not drinking enough fresh water. A high fiber diet consisting of whole grain breads, vegetables like potatoes, carrots, turnips, leafy greens, fresh fruits, stewed prunes, and bran products are recommended.

Don't forget, exercise helps constipation as well. When you drink a glass or bottle of water with your meal, take small sips. This helps move the digestive process along.
