Hydration Health - Urinary Tract Infection
A urinary tract infection, (UTI) is caused by bacteria in the urinary tract. When we drink water, the body uses what it needs and the waste is passed through to the bladder. When the bladder gets full it expands causing the need to urinate. But when bacteria are present, it creates the same urge to urinate regardless of how much urine is present. If you have a UTI it can be painful and discomforting. The bladder needs plenty of water to remain healthy and the best way to keep it healthy is to drink plenty of water.
Things like caffeine, alcohol, and carbonated beverages can aggravate the bladder, so it is best to avoid them or keep them to a minimum.
