Once upon a time, me, my young brother max, and my parents lived on a farm in Nevada.

It's very hot in Nevada, and it was often very difficult for us to keep cool. My Dad works in the silver mine, and my Mom takes care of us. Recently though, my Mom has been ill, but we all try to look after her.
One day Max and me were bored, so for fun, Max suggested we go out and play. There wasn't much to do outside, as we lived in a desert, so often we would wander toward the old abandoned mines.
Our Father had always warned us not to go into the mines, and we never did, but today when we arrived there to play around it, Max pulled out a map.

He said it was a map leading to the treasure inside the mine, so we ventured in.
We hadn't got more than a few foot steps in, when suddenly we felt the floor boards we were walking on break, and we slid deep through a deep hole in the ground.

When the slide ended we fell through the air and plunged into an underground lake. We clambered out and my brother was so exhausted he went for a snooze on the bank. The bank was very green, with trees and bushes everywhere, so while Max was asleep I went for a look around.
I strolled around the banks for a while, when suddenly I heard a voice. Coming toward me was a real, living hydrant! He was all blue, with a firemans' hat and large red shoes.
He said hello to me, but I was a little scared so I quickly ran to wake up Max. The hydrant followed me, and after I woke Max up, he introduced himself properly;

"I'm Bluey, The Blue Hydrant Water Guardian", he said.
"Hello" I said back to him, "my name is Pruney Goodwill, and this is my brother - Max."
"Hello Pruney and Max" said Bluey, and he carried on telling us all about himself and what he was doing here; he said he's a water guardian and takes care of all our water.
After a while talking, Bluey noticed I wasn't feeling to well, so I told him neither of us was feeling too well all the time and my Mom was ill all the time. Bluey told us that our water supply had been contaminated with silver, and that it was this that was making my family so ill.

Bluey gave us some bottles of water; it was the best water me and my brother had ever tasted! Bluey also gave us some water filters and told us to always use the filters whenever we want to drink water, and that we should each try to have five glasses of water per day.
With that, Bluey led us out of the network of caves and waved us goodbye, telling us to come back whenever we wanted (which we did).
There's more to the story of course, but you'll have to wait until I can write it all down to properly tell the story...
